Why Do I Teach?
From the moment I took my first college course, I knew I wanted to teach. I wanted to nurture, cultivate, and instill the love of learning in others just as my previous professors nurtured, cultivated, and instilled the love of learning in me. I think about the knowledge and skills that I would like to instill in my students. I think of my teachings in three parts: heart & spirit, head, and hands. For their hearts and spirits, what virtues and attitudes should they cultivate within them? For their heads, what knowledge should I teach them? For their hands, what skills should I cultivate in them?
